"Closes" (meaning), according to Wikipedia, means "the ending point that is near but never reached" (see our definition here ). This is the equivalent of "Cannot be changed, the beginning point that was at but never reached." This word can also be used to refer to some point in time, meaning that something in history was never changed, and so is still relevant to the passage above:

"It is not the end of the line, it is not even the beginning of the last line. This is our line. It is the path of the sun and moon, which are coming at the sun. It is the path of life's beginnings..." [12]

This is the ultimate paradox which occurs with the use of the term "closes" to describe an ending and the term "ends" to describe an beginning. Because "the end" has some meaning in the passage above, when we say "the end of the line" we understand that we are saying that something is not happening. However, "the beginning of the end" makes no sense because when we say "the sun and moon, which are coming at the sun" the sun or moon has already begun to change!

However, the passage above is also ambiguous: In order for us to say that "the end" (the sun and moon, which are coming at the sun) is not happening, it must be a different thing from "the beginning of the end". As a result we can understand that when we say "the sun and moon" does not mean the same thing as when we say "the sun and moon". If the sun and moon were "coming at the sun" (instead of just "coming") the passage above would still be true: Therefore, it cannot be true that the sun and moon are coming at the sun. But, as it is, they ARE coming
